From radio to bunker
A successful decode begins with a complete recording. This guide walks through capturing a broadcast, reading the result, and using it on the map.
Capture a complete message
Start recording before the first tone and stop after the final digit. A standard bunker message contains ten digits. The first six identify its grid square and the remaining four give the door code. Each digit contains five short or long tones. On default Nasdara settings, the radio broadcast uses 80.0 MHz at night. Server settings may differ. Radio bunker reference
Keep the radio audible and reduce competing voice chat and music. Preserve a little silence at either end when trimming the clip. Cutting into the first or last tone can prevent the decoder from recognising the full sequence.
Use the decoder
- Choose a video or audio recording on the main page.
- Press Decode recording. A separate tab waits for your map result.
- Watch the analysis bar. Audio is read and analysed on your device.
- Read the grid, X and Z coordinates, and four-digit code together.
- Use the iZurvive tab to locate the first matched bunker. Additional results have their own map links.
Understand the coordinates
The six-digit grid counts east from the west edge and south from the north edge in 100-metre steps. World X/Z coordinates use a different vertical origin. Badlands Bunker matches the broadcast grid against its known bunker list and returns the listed entrance position. Grid reference explanation
For example, a recording we tested decoded to 0570741565. Splitting that message gives grid 057 074 and code 1565. The app returns the entrance at X 5719, Z 8970. This is a worked example from one recording, so use the code from your own current broadcast when playing.
Check a digit by hand
A dot represents a short tone and a dash represents a long tone. Group five tones at a time, keeping any leading zeros.
| Digit | Morse | Digit | Morse |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | ----- | 5 | ..... |
| 1 | .---- | 6 | -.... |
| 2 | ..--- | 7 | --... |
| 3 | ...-- | 8 | ---.. |
| 4 | ....- | 9 | ----. |
If you have already decoded the digits, expand Enter a transmission manually on the home page and enter all ten digits together.
At the entrance
Match both the location and code to the same broadcast. Bunker availability and codes change with the in-game night. If the door will not open, check the current broadcast and your server’s settings. Bunker entry details
